I had a wonderful time at Teen camp! It was a very enriching experience for me as first time counselor. I was really impressed at how well-organized the whole week was! Every day there was a schedule of events and it was all timed so perfectly, and we were all kept busy throughout the day – so much fun! I don’t have any suggestions for improvement, because I thought the week went really well. I was grateful for the little breaks we had, the “free time”, and I think they were at good time slots. There was enough of them and they weren’t too long or too short.
I also really enjoyed the speeches that were given!
I really enjoyed the organized events that Elmo prepared! She is so creative and I loved how the kids and the counselors could have so much fun together!
The food was amazing and they fed us so often! Those ladies worked very hard and I really appreciate all the work they did. Also for the special treats we counselors received at night, after the kids were in bed. Thanks Trixie for asking me to be a counselor, even though I had signed up for kitchen help 😊….. you’re right, I did enjoy leading a team of kids – much more fun then being stuck in the kitchen all day! I really got to experience the kid’s camp activities this way and I thank you for this experience.
I was so tired all week!! I have to admit, I don’t do well with late nights and early mornings --- but I survived! Haha, we ALL survived, all of us counselors were in the same boat! Good times!! So many good laughs! Great entertainment!!
I am spreading the word over here about being a camp counselor, how it was such an enriching experience! I’m encouraging other parents to volunteer.
Thank you to all the organizers for all the work you do for putting together this Teen Camp! I really hope you keep this camp open to Taber, Coaldale and Calgary teens, even though the numbers are going up. Sunset Point Teen Camp is truly a blessing for our Reformed Church community! Thank you!
My time at camp? Well my time at camp as been absolutely amazing. I’ve met awesome people who are some of my closest friends today. I learned things about myself and about my faith in God. I learned confidence and to laugh at myself when I mess up. Camp holds some of the best memories for me. You did not feel like any activity was forced or like you had to amazing at everything. The counselors were amazing people and of course they had great food! Camp was absolutely amazing. The three summers that I got to go to camp were the best time ever. Camp was amazing and I’m so sad I cannot return anymore.

Sunset Point Teen Camp was the highlight of my summers for the past three years. It is a fantastic week filled with water fights, flour bomb wars, sports, speeches, campfires and more! When you are in a Christian environment, with your age group, you have the opportunity to grow in your faith, and love for the Lord. The theme song, and bible text for each year will stick with you. Each year I was able to make new friends and connect with old ones. Writing from experience, the friendships you make at this camp will last a lifetime!

Sunset Point is the BEST camp I have ever been to. The opportunities offered there to learn and grow as a teen are amazing. Before going there I only had a few friends that I knew from school; after I had made countless more. Sunset Point is an awesome way to meet new people with the same faith as you. It is a great way to learn more about God and his love for all of us. The activities provided are amazing! The wide range vary from soccer and basketball all the way to a mini Amazing Race and flour bomb wars. (If you don’t know what flour bomb wars are I guess you’d better go.) There is no need to worry about whether or not your child will go hungry because the food is top of the notch amazing! If you are looking for a camp to send your child to learn about God as well as have loads of fun, then Sunset Point is the place to go!
Volunteering at Sunset Point Teen Camp has been such a bright spot for me in the 3 summers I've done it. It has given me a chance to connect with the younger kids in my church community, serve the communion of saints, and strengthen relationships with fellow volunteers!! I have had some of the biggest laughs ever at camp!! what happens at camp stays at camp!
